Introduction to Paddling Programs
Flatwater Canoe and Kayaking is an iconic Canadian activity and Stand Up Paddling is increasing in popularity. All three activities offer excellent, low-impact workouts in the beautiful outdoors! If you're new to paddling and looking to have an enjoyable and comprehensive start in the sport, our Introductory Programs are a great place to get started on the water! Here's what we're offering for 2019.
Intro to CanoeThis half-day course will turn land-lovers into proficient paddlers. Open to anyone looking for a safe, informative, and fun introduction to flat water canoeing. Areas covered include movement skills, boat care, entry/exits, safety, and selecting proper equipment. Participants will be able to use their own boats, paddles, and PFD/life jackets, or those provided by the Club.

Intro to Sea KayakingIntroduction to Sea Kayaking introduces the novice to paddling a sea kayak in calm, sheltered waters. The focus of this half-day course is to provide skills essential to being comfortable day paddling in a group environment. The course participant will build on their expanding paddling skill set, and be introduced to rescue techniques that incorporate the use of a paddling partner. Participants will be able to use their own boats, paddles, and PFD/life jackets or those provided by the Club.

Intro to Stand Up PaddlingStand Up Paddling combines surfing with paddling. It provides an awesome core workout while allowing paddlers a great view of their surroundings in a comfortable and free position. If you're looking to try out SUP paddling, our Introductory Programs are a great place to get started on the water! The Intro to SUP is a 1.5 hour session where you will learn the basics of equipment, technique and water safety. All boards and equipment will be provided.
